A basic phone is a photo without a touchscreen and it has a physical keypad. They are popular among elderly people and people who don’t want a smartphone. The Telstra Lite 3 is a good basic phone and a step up from the Telstra Lite 2 but it might not be the right phone for you. In this Telstra Lite 3 Review I will be talking about the Telstra Lite 3 and how it works so you can decide if it is the right phone for you or not.
What Is The Telstra Lite 3?
The Telstra Lite 3 is a basic phone that allows you do to basic tasks like calls, texts and MMS. It has a good size display that is clear and easy to see. The phone is a step up from the Telstra Lite 2 and has a better display and better keypad but it still has a few drawbacks that you need to be aware of. This means it might not be the phone you are looking for but it is still worth considering if you are looking for a basic phone.
The Telstra Lite 3 is designed for elderly people and people who want a phone for basic tasks that don’t use their phone a lot. It’s a good choice for people with low phone needs that don’t want to worry about smartphones. The phone doesn’t have any advanced features but it does have Bluetooth but it does not have WiFi, an internet browser or any web related features.
The Telstra Lite 3 is a 4G phone that has support for 3G, 4G and 4GX meaning it can be used by anyone regardless of what country you live in and you won’t have to upgrade after 3G gets switched off in your country in the future because you will have support for 4G and 4GX on your phone.
The phone is cheap and better quality than the Telstra Lite and The Telstra Lite 2 but is still not very good quality as it’s a cheap phone that can withstand a fall or drop from 2 or 3 feet but it is not a very durable phone in any other way.

Basic Tasks On The Telstra Lite 3
Basic tasks on the Telstra Lite 3 can be done quite easily without too much trouble. Phone calls are easy to make and have good call quality. But sending texts messages and doing are similar tasks can be a bit tedious due to the way the keypad is designed even though it is better than the keypad on the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 2.
There is not much you can do on the phone as it lacks features like apps and games that are found on most phones.
Here is a list of the features included on the Telstra Lite 3
- Calls
- Messages
- Call Logs
- Contacts
- Camera
- Calendar
- Alarm
- Calculator
- Converter
- World Clock
- Voice Alarm
- Image Gallery
- Voice Recorder
- Music Player
- Video Player
- Fake Call
- Call Filter
- Torch
- FM Radio
- Bluetooth
- File Explorer
- Settings
As you can see the Telstra Lite 3 is quite basic and limited to what you can do on it. There is no WiFi, internet browser or web related features on the phone meaning tasks involving these features are not possible on the phone and this a problem for some people that want to use these features.
The phone is ok for basic tasks like calls and text messages or as a backup or emergency phone. But it is not something that a lot of people are going to want. The phone is also a good choice for elderly people and people with low phone needs as it’s easy to use.
But the Telstra Lite 3 is not a phone I recommend to anyone who wants a phone that is better quality and has more features than the Telstra Lite 3. If that’s the case I recommend you look for a different basic phone like the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 2 that fits you needs and has the features you need or consider getting a basic smartphone.
If you would like to know more about the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 2 I have full reviews on both of these phones on this website.

Battery Life & Multimedia
Battery life on the Telstra Lite 3 is really good and will last a full day on one charge with some charge left over depending on how much you use the phone and what you do on it. On standby mode the phone will last a few days before going flat if you don’t use it or charge it. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to fully charge from low battery which is a bit long the but the battery life is really which is a good thing as I said.
There is a camera and basic multimedia features on the Telstra Lite 3. The camera is low quality and worse than the camera on the Telstra Lite 2 which I find strange and annoying as the phone is a step up and upgrade of the Telstra Lite 2. The pictures that it takes are alright but are nothing that good. If you want to take a lot of photos and videos I recommend you look for a different phone with a better camera.
The phone also has an image gallery that allows you to view the photos you take, a video player that allows you watch the videos you take or have on the phone and a music player that allows you to play the music you have on the phone. The Telstra Lite 3 has 128MB internal storage and it can be expanded up to 32GB using a Micro SD card.
WiFi & Internet Connectivity
As I said earlier the Telstra Lite 3 does not have WiFi, a web browser or any other web related features meaning you can’t browse the web or do anything web related on the phone. I find this strange and frustrating as most phones now days have these features and this phone should to. The Telstra Lite has email and a web browser but the Telstra Lite 2 and The Telstra Lite 3 do not have these features or any web related features.
I’m surprised that the Telstra Lite 3 doesn’t have at least a email and a web browser but I’m hoping that if there future phones in the Telstra Lite range they will include email, a web browser and some other web related features to. The lack of a web browser and other web related features is a problem for some people that want to do web related tasks on their because they won’t be able to do them on the Telstra Lite 3.
Therefore if you want a phone with a web browser and other web related features the Telstra Lite 3 is not for you. I recommend you consider the Telstra Lite or another basic phone that has the web related features you want.
Price Of The Telstra Lite 3
The Telstra Lite 3 is a cheap phone and is cheap to buy. I got mine from a post office for $59 which is the normal price for the phone. The price can vary as low as $30 up to $70 depending on where you buy the phone and if it is on sale or not. The Telstra Lite 3 is also known as the Telstra Essential Lite 3 and is available in post offices, phone carriers and electrical stores as well as online on websites like eBay, Amazon and Kogan.

Customer Feedback About The Telstra Lite 3
There are many people that have used the Telstra Lite 3 and they have all had different experiences with the phone. The Telstra Lite 3 has mostly positive feedback but there is some negative feedback mainly regarding the lack of a web browser and other web related features. I have gathered some feedback from around the web to show you some examples of other real user experiences with the phone.
There are positive experiences like this
And negative experiences like this
As you can see the Telstra Lite 3 has mostly positive feedback with only a bit of negative feedback. But my experiences with the Telstra Lite 3 has been really good. It’s not a good quality phone but it’s works fine for calls, texts and other basic tasks. The biggest problem I have with the phone is the lack of a web browser and other web related features.
But other than that I really like the phone as it works fine, has really good battery life that lasts a full day and all the features on the phone work fine. Despite it’s drawbacks it’s not a bad phone and it can be the right option for some people.
Is The Telstra Lite 3 For Me?
I recommend the Telstra Lite 3 to elderly people and anyone who wants a basic phone for calls, texts and other basic tasks. I also recommend the Telstra Lite 3 to anyone who has low phone needs and doesn’t need a web browser or other web related features.
I don’t recommend the Telstra Lite 3 to anyone who wants a basic phone with a web browser and other web related features as these features are not included on the phone meaning web browsing and other web related tasks are not possible on the phone. I also don’t recommend the Telstra Lite 3 to anyone who wants a basic phone with more features than the Telstra Lite 3 has on it.

Has anyone found a user manual for the Telstra lite 3 , either hardcopy or pdf online . There doesn’t seem to be one .
Hello
Thank you for reading and for your comment. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a user manual for the Telstra Lite 3. I have the phone and there is no physical manual included in the box.
There is a very basic quick start guide, health and safety booklet and a warranty card in the box but not other documentation. I have not been able to find one anywhere online either. There is a manual for the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 2 online but not for the Telstra Lite 3.
If you ever have any questions or need any help regarding the Telstra Lite 3 let me know. I’m always happy to help you out. Thank you again for reading and for your comment.
