Telstra Lite 2 Review- How Good Is It?

Basic phones are also known as candy bar phones and dumb phones but are popular among beginners, elderly people and anyone who doesn’t want a smartphone. The Telstra Lite 2 is a good basic phone and a step up from the Telstra Lite but it might not be the right phone for you. In this Telstra Lite 2 Review I will be talking about the Telstra Lite 2 and how it works so you can decide if it is the right phone for you or not.

What Is The Telstra Lite 2? Telstra Lite 2

The Telstra Lite 2 is a basic phone that allows you to do basic tasks like calls, SMS and MMS. While it is better than the Telstra Lite because it has a bigger and brighter display, bigger keypad and is easier to use it still has a few drawbacks meaning it might not be the basic phone you are looking for.

It is designed for elderly people and anyone who needs a phone for light usage and basic tasks as well as a phone that is easy to see and use. It is also designed for people who want a basic phone and don’t want a smartphone. The phone has no advanced features but it does have Bluetooth and WiFi although there is no web browser on the phone and I can’t find any way of using the internet on the phone other than being able to connect to a WiFi network.

The Telstra Lite 2 is a 4G phone with support for 3G, 4G and 4GX meaning you can still use the phone in countries that switch off 3G in the future because you will have support for 4G and 4GX as well. The phone is cheap and a bit better quality than the Telstra Lite but it is still nothing that good as it can withstand being dropped from about 2 or 3 feet but it is not a very durable phone in any other way.

Basic Tasks On The Telstra Lite 2

Basic tasks on the Telstra Lite 2 can be done without too much trouble. Phone calls are easy and call quality is good but tasks like sending text messages are a bit tedious but easier than on the Telstra Lite because of the bigger keypad and the way it is designed. You can’t do much on the phone due to it’s lack of a web browser and web related features which are found on most phones.

Here is a list of the features include on the Telstra Lite 2

  • Calls
  • SMS
  • Contacts
  • Call History
  • FM Radio
  • Music Player
  • Camera
  • Clock
  • Alarm
  • World Clock
  • Calendar
  • File Explorer
  • Voice Recorder
  • Image Gallery
  • Video Player
  • Calculator
  • Timer
  • Stopwatch
  • Notes
  • Torch

As you can see the Telstra Lite 2 is quite limited and you can’t do much on it. It’s ok for elderly people and anyone who just wants a phone to use for calls and texts but not much else.

I don’t recommend this phone to anyone who wants a phone to browse the web or do other web related tasks as there is no web browser or any other web related features on this phone meaning web browsing and web related tasks are not possible on this phone.

If you are interested in getting a basic phone but want to be able to browse the web you should consider the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 3. Although the Telstra Lite is an older model it does have email and a web browser on it so you can do basic web related tasks on the phone.

But if you want more features than what’s on the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 2 than you should consider the Telstra Lite 3 which is a much better phone and has more even more features.

If you would like to know more about the Telstra Lite and the Telstra Lite 3 I have full reviews on both of these phones on this website.

Battery Life & Multimedia Telstra Lite 2 Music Player

Battery life on the Telstra Lite 2 is really good and will last a full day on one charge with some charge left over depending on how much you use the phone and what you do on it. On standby the phone will last almost 2 weeks if you don’t use it and don’t charge it. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to fully charge from low battery which is a bit long but the battery life is really good as I said which is a good thing.

There is a camera and basic multimedia features on the Telstra Lite 2. The camera is low quality but better than the camera on the Telstra Lite. The pictures it takes are alright but are nothing that good. If you want to take a lot of photos and videos you you should choose a different phone because you will want a phone with a much better camera.

The phone also has an image gallery that allows you to view the photos you take, a video player that allows you to watch the videos you take or have on the phone and a music player that allows you play the music you have on the phone. The Telstra Lite 2 has 57.34MB internal storage and it can be expanded up to 32GB using a Micro SD card.

WiFi & Internet Connectivity

As I said earlier there is WiFi on the Telstra Lite 2 and it says you can connect to the internet with mobile data but there is no web browser on the phone. I haven’t been able to figure out why there is WiFi on the phone but no web browser. My guess is WiFi is on the phone for WiFi calls but I don’t know for sure.

I find this strange as the Telstra Lite has a web browser that you can use with mobile data and I expected the Telstra Lite 2 to have the ability to browse the web to as it is an upgrade to the Telstra Lite. There is also no email or any other web related features on the phone which surprised me because most phones even basic phones usually have the ability to do basic web browsing on them if nothing else.

The lack of a web browser and other web related features means you can’t browse the web or do anything web related on the phone. This is a problem for people who want to at least be able to browse the web therefore it’s not a good choice for these people and you will have to look at other options you want a web browser and other web related features.

Price Of The Telstra Lite 2

The Telstra Lite 2 is a cheap phone and is cheap to buy. I got mine from a post office for $49 which is the normal price for the phone. It can cost a bit less as low as $30 or up to $60 depending on where you buy the phone and if it is on sale or not. The Telstra Lite 2 is also known as the Telstra ZTE Z21315T and the ZTE Z21315T. It is available in some post offices and electrical stores as well as online on websites like eBay, Amazon and Kogan.

It is not a good quality phone but it works fine for calls, texts and other basic tasks. It has really good battery life and will last the full day. Despite it’s drawbacks it’s not a bad phone and can be the right option for some people.

Is The Telstra Lite 2 For Me?

I recommend the Telstra Lite 2 to elderly people and anyone who wants a basic phone for calls and text messages. I also recommend the Telstra Lite 2 to anyone who wants a basic phone but doesn’t need a web browser or the ability to do any web related tasks on their phone.

I don’t recommend the Telstra Lite 2 to anyone who wants a basic to do web browsing or any other web related tasks as the phone does not have a web browser or any other web related features therefore these takes are not possible on the phone. I also don’t recommend the Telstra Lite 2 to anyone who wants a basic phone with more features than the Telstra Lite 2 has on it.
