Flip phones are popular among seniors, people who are not tech savvy and those who just don’t want a smartphone. There are many flip phones on the market but some are better than others. The Aspera F42 is a decent flip phone but it might not be the right phone for you. In this Aspera F42 review I will be talking about the Aspera F42 and how it works so you can decide if it is the right phone for you or not.
What Is The Aspera F42?
The Aspera F42 is a decent flip phone with a 2.8 inch display and a 1.8 inch secondary display. It has a really nice design and some good features for a flip phone. The phone is easy to use and is quite fast and responsive making it a decent phone that is suitable for seniors and anyone else looking for a good flip phone.
The Aspera F42 allows you to do basic tasks like calls, texts and internet browsing as well as other tasks like listening to music, watching videos and using connectivity features. There are also some features on the phone that are not found on all flip phones that are good to have and useful for some people.
The phone is best used for basic tasks like calls and texts and basic web related tasks but it can be used for other tasks as well such as some multimedia tasks which are possible on the phone. The Aspera F42 is a 4G flip phone that has support for 3G and 4G meaning you can still use the phone in countries that switch off 3G in the future as you will be able to use it on 4G as well.

Daily Tasks On The Aspera F42
Daily tasks are easy to on the Aspera F42 and can be done quite quickly. Calls are easy to make and call quality is quite good. Sending text messages is a bit tedious and time consuming due to it being a flip phone but there are no problems sending text messages on the phone.
You can also browse the web on the Aspera F42 using the web browser which works fine but it is a bit tedious and time consuming due to it being a flip phone. You can also use Facebook Lite and Whatsapp on the phone as these apps come preinstalled on the phone. The phone can be a bit slow at times but it is fast and runs smoothly most of the time.
Doing other tasks on the Aspera F42 like using the clock, calculator and calendar are quick and easy to do. These features all work fine and I have had no issues using them. As you can see daily tasks on the Aspera F42 are quite easy to do. There are many things you can do on the phone but some tasks like sending text messages and web browsing are tedious and time consuming due to the phone being a flip phone.
If you decide the Aspera F42 is not for you there are many other options out there that you can consider. You could consider a basic phone like Konka U6 or a basic smartphone like the Alcatel U3 3G. These phones are basic but are good alternatives to the Aspera F42. If you would like to know more about these phones I have full reviews of both of them on this website.

Battery Life & Multimedia
Battery life on the Aspera F42 is decent but drains fast with heavy usage. It will last a few hours on one charge depending on what you do on the phone. If you do basic tasks like calls, texts and light web browsing it will last a full day but you will need to charge the phone at the end of the day.
But if you do a lot of heavy tasks like a lot of web browsing, using Facebook Lite and Whatsapp a lot and using the phone’s connectivity features a lot the battery will drain fast and will need charging before the end of the day as the battery is not good with heavy usage. On standby mode the battery will last a few days if you don’t use the phone or charge it.
There are two cameras on the Aspera F42 which are a rear camera and a front facing camera. They are both low quality and take low quality photos. You should avoid using the camera unless you really need to as it is not worth using due to the low quality photos and videos it takes. Therefore this is not a phone you should get if you are going to be taking a lot of photos and videos. If that’s the case you should choose a different flip phone.
Aside from the cameras the phone also has an image gallery, music player and a video player for playing any music and videos that you have on the phone. The Aspera F42 has 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB using a Micro SD card.
Internet & Connectivity
The Aspera F42 has a web browser and can connect to the internet via WiFi or mobile data. It also has the ability to work as a WiFi hotspot using it’s mobile data to allow other devices to connect to the internet via WiFi using it’s data. The phone also has the ability to set up and use VPNs which is something not seen very often on a flip phone.
The Aspera F42 also has a couple of other web related apps on the phone which are Facebook Lite and Whatsapp. These work fine and you can use them anytime you are connected to the internet on the phone. These apps come preinstalled and are the only web related apps you can use on the phone aside from the web browsing.
This is because there is no app store on the phone and no way to download and install any other apps on the phone meaning you can only use the apps that are preinstalled on the phone. As for connectivity the Aspera F42 has Bluetooth for transferring files between other Bluetooth devices and it works fine. Aside from this the phone also has a flashlight, headphone jack and an FM radio which works using the headphones like on most phones that have an FM radio.
With the internet and connectivity features that are available on the phone you will be able to get most web related tasks and other day to day tasks done but make sure to not use them to heavily as it will drain the battery fast if you do. But if you need to use other apps or if you want to play games you will need to choose a different phone as these tasks are not possible on the phone.
Price Of The Aspera F42
The Aspera F42 is a cheap and affordable flip phone. I got mine from a department store for $99 but it could cost a bit more depending on where you buy the phone and if it is on sale or not. It is available in some post offices, electrical stores and department stores as well as online on websites like eBay, Amazon and Kogan.

Is The Aspera F42 For Me?
I recommend the Aspera F42 to seniors and anyone who is looking for a decent flip phone that is easy to use and is decent quality. I also recommend the Aspera F42 to anyone with low to moderate phone needs that doesn’t need other features that aren’t on the phone.
I don’t recommend the Aspera F42 to anyone who is looking for a flip phone that is better quality and has more features on it. I also don’t recommend the Aspera F42 to anyone that uses their phone a lot and needs more web related features other than a web browser and the preinstalled applications that come on the phone.
